One of the major events in the Dorset calendar, the festival attracts visitors from far and wide, over 11,000! Referred to as ‘The Best Garden Party in the West’, here you’ll enjoy a most impressive range of cheeses and other foods; as fine a display as you’ll find anywhere. There are also two craft marquees where you can find beautiful ceramics, jewellery, pictures, stained glass, you can even watch the lace makers at work.
The Mousetrap Food Theatre is where you’ll find all the local personalities and celebrities demonstrating their cooking skills, talking about cheese, talking about food and so much more. There’s live music and plenty of real ale and cider and there’s also plenty of entertainment for the children including Punch and Judy, stilt walkers, circus acts, roundabout, swing boats and so much more.
So if you fancy enjoying a proper Dorset festival and you appreciate cheese and good food, then why not consider a weekend break at Plumber Manor, a splendid Jacobean country house hotel near Sturminster Newton and the Cheese Festival.
