Near Salisbury Racecourse, Dorset Country Hotel

Salisbury is a Flat Racecourse which is renowned for high quality races, horses and trainers as well as, of course, top jockeys.

The famous Lester Piggott made his public debut at Salisbury in 1948.

There are three enclosures, the premier being The Bibury, closest to the winning line. There are two stands in The Bibury and racegoers have access to the horses in the Parade Ring before a race and to the Winners’ Enclosure after a race. Access to the Parade Ring and the Winners’ Enclosure is also available to racegoers in the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure but not to those in the Course Enclosure.

All three enclosures provide excellent views of the racing and there’s a big TV screen opposite the stands for all race days except for the Arabian Horse Racing day.

If you’re coming from afar and would like to make the most of race days at Salisbury Racecourse, then a stay at Plumber Manor with its legendary hospitality, is an odds-on favourite!
