Dorset Opera is a remarkable phenomenon in that it brings together experienced, even internationally acclaimed opera professionals to work alongside a young amateur chorus to produce opera of an extraordinary high quality. Chorus members rehearse and perform from scratch, guided and inspired by a professional director, conductor and chorus master. Full details are on the Dorset Opera website.
This is all part of the Summer School. Everyone gains an immeasurable amount of experience, from the chorus members to the technical theatre students who gain experience in set construction, painting, prop-making, lighting design, costume-making and stage crewing.
