There can be very few more idyllic locations for a private dinner party, a special celebration or a reunion of old friends or colleagues; reunions are especially popular, regular groups revisiting us from far and wide throughout the year. It’s all so private and so relaxed, the manor house and grounds so sublime, the food so delicious, and the service so attentive and congenial.
Here’s what Matthew Norman’s restaurant review in The Guardian, including his comments on Plumber Manor’s ‘unwitting part’ in the 2008 US presidential election.
The vaulted dining room is fabulous for smaller parties up to 22. This is like dining in the cellar (but beautifully decorated) although the room is actually on the ground floor. The atmosphere is fantastic and contributes greatly to the enjoyment of all.
When you consider that Plumber Manor has been laying on private parties for over 400 years, it’s hardly surprising the house, now one of the loveliest of Dorset country hotels, feels so welcoming and guests naturally enter into the spirit of the occasion.
Plumber Manor is also available on an exclusive use hotel, when the only guests are those invited by you , and is conveniently near Henstridge Airfield for anyone arriving by plane. Exclusive use lunch parties as well as exclusive use evening celebrations are both possible.
It’s easy to appreciate why this beautiful country hotel is the most idyllic venue for exclusive use wedding receptions in Dorset. The magical, dreamy environment always provides the bride and groom, parents and guests with a thoroughly enjoyable, uniquely memorable day.
Plumber Manor will comfortably seat a party of 44 in the main dining room. However, the ground floor can comfortably accommodate up to 70 guests with a delicious buffet.
