Swanage Blues Festival
Every March, thousands of blues music lovers converge on Swanage for the first Blues Festival of the year, the second being in October. Hundreds of musicians performing 60+ events in 15 indoor venues. Sensational music, much dancing and loads of fun. Pubs, restaurants and hotels resound to the sounds of great music...and you can take part in the Electric Jam and Open Mic sessions.

Salisbury International Arts Festival
Plumber Manor is always a popular rural retreat for visitors to the Salisbury International Arts Festival. This year, there’s even a production of King John to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carter. Here are some of the highlight events.

Sherborne Castle Country Fair
Set in the beautiful grounds of stately Sherborne Castle, right beside the lake, the Sherborne Castle Country Fair is everything a country fair should be. There are events and attractions to appeal to all ages, including rural crafts, animals, dragon boat racing, a big top, food, one of the largest Rare Breed shows in the country and so much more.

International Boogie Woogie Festival
Our own local music festival, where the finest boogie boogie pianists in the world assemble for three days of music and dance. This is boogie woogie and blues music at its most enjoyable, especially as there are upright pianos available for anyone who wants to participate.

The Dorset Opera Festival
Every summer, Dorset Opera stages at least five operas in a magnificent venue, Bryanston School.

One of the finest country fairs in all England. If you’re in Dorset during this period, a visit to the steam fair is a must…it’s also worth travelling a distance. The kids love it.
